Alluxio Mount

Jais Sebastian
Hello,

  1. Can we mount different S3 accounts to one Alluxio server instance ?
  2. Is there any limit on number of mounts one Alluxio server can support ? Where each mount could be  to s3 ( different s3 accounts ) , HDFS path , NFS ,GCS etc..
  3. How the mount meta data will be preserved, ie in case of S3 mount , where the credentials will be persisted ?
Regards,
Jais

Yes. You only need to specify different credentials for each mount
E.g.,
$ ./bin/alluxio fs mount --option aws.accessKeyId=<accessKeyId1> --option aws.secretKey=<secretKey1>  /mnt1 s3a://data-bucket1/
$ ./bin/alluxio fs mount --option aws.accessKeyId=<accessKeyId2> --option aws.secretKey=<secretKey2>  /mnt2 s3a://data-bucket2/
Then /mnt1 and /mnt2 are backed by different s3 buckets / accounts.

No such a limit

the credentials will be stored on the server side process. They will be journaled on server side.
