Alluxio 1.8.0 Release Candidate 2

Dear Alluxio users and developers, 

I'm happy to announce the release candidate (RC2) of Alluxio 1.8.0. This release provides significant usability improvements. Here are some highlights:
  • Simplified client configuration
  • Enhanced metrics
  • Metadata backup and restore
If you are an Alluxio user, you can help us test this release by taking an older version Alluxio workload and running it on this release candidate, then reporting any issues or regressions. Based on your testing, give a "+1" vote in this thread if you are happy with the result; otherwise, please give a "-1",  explain the reason and describe the issues or regressions from 1.7.1 or earlier releases. 

A pre-compiled version can be downloaded from
Relevant runtime client jars are included in the client folder of the download.
